The country-pop vixen has already penned 10 new songs for the record. “They’re sad, if I’m being honest,” she said when describing the new tunes to The New Yorker, adding that the last song she wrote, “is about moving on.” The Speak Now era has been truly enormous for Swift. The album’s charted five top twenty hits on the Hot 100, with US sales of 3.7 million copies and a worldwide total of over 5.5 million. Compare that to Lady GaGa’s Born This Way, which also shifted one million first week but has yet to even reach double platinum in the States, and you can see how successful Swift’s been. On top of the album sales, the Speak Now tour has sold over one million tickets, and has established Swift as one of the top female touring artists with its multiple stadium sell-outs.
